Just as the rise of DVD technology demanded new sophisticated audio technology, Blu-ray commands superior audio processing and power efficiency.
With Blu-ray movies incorporating new audio formats, such as DTS Master Audio and Dolby TrueHD, a new approach to amplification is necessary with a 20-fold increase in the data required to unlock the full potential of Blu-ray discs.
Featuring a new and unique Direct Energy HD Amplifier, developed together with ICEpower, Pioneer’s flagship SCLX90 delivers more than three times better power efficiency than traditional class A/B amplifiers, and straddles enough power to continuously drive a true multi-channel total power output of 1400W over 10 channels.

Equipped with six HDMI inputs and 2 HDMI outputs, Pioneer’s SCLX90 is built for the Full-HD world.
With two HDMI outputs, users can connect Susano to both a plasma and projector, and then switch between displays.
Add to the mix eight analogue AV inputs, five analogue audio inputs, eleven digital audio inputs, three digital audio outputs, five component video inputs, two component video outputs, and the number of connection options on Susano is virtually endless.

Packed with the highly respected QDEO video scaling chip from Marvell and then Wolfson WM8741 DAC, Pioneer’s SCLX90 also uses three separate chips for DSP processing, each one chosen specifically for the task being performed.
By having dedicated high performance DSPs, Susano can deliver precise signal processing at high speed.
Included is a 3rd Generation SHARC processor for HD audio decoding and advanced sound retriever processing.
Moreover, Susano is equipped with a Freescale DSP engine for precision distance and front stage surround advanced processing, as well as a secondary 3rd Generation SHARC processor for Advanced MCACC (Multi-Channel Acoustic Calibration System) and Full Band Phase Control.

Via Ethernet connectivity, Susano is DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance) certified, allowing users to integrate the amplifier into their home network so that they can enjoy simple, direct, easy-to-control access to all your music, video or photo files stores on DLNA compatible media.
Unlike many DLNA amplifiers currently on the market, Pioneer’s SCLX90 will stream HD video sources, such as MPEG4 and WMV from your network to your flat panel display.

Pioneer’s SC-LX70 has greater flexibility than any of its predecessors with the ability to use the 10.2 powered channels to bi-amp every channel (5.1) or set up a second listening zone (eg: backyard decking) via 7.1 multi-zoning.
In addition to this, you can listen to content from multiple devices in different rooms at the same time (Zone 2: audio + video + iPod, Zone 3: audio). Low jitter reduction
Jitter reduction, an often under rated aspect of digital audio distortion has been given a big priority for Susano, employing two different techniques.
For Pioneer devices that have embedded Precision Quartz Locking System (PQLS) technology, such as the forthcoming BDP-LX71 Blu-ray player, Susano is in perfect time alignment. The PQLS clocks timing from the source perfectly with the DAC on the amplifier.
For other HDMI devices a sampling rate convertor has been used to upscale 44 or 48kHz signals up to 192kHz – in this way any small jitter time error will be minimised further.
Ultra-accurate colour reproduction
Thanks to Deep Colour, the Susano offers ultra-high colour depth of up to 36-bit for a sumptuous viewing experience. As a result, it guarantees smooth colour transitions, the finest colour gradation steps and a dramatically improved contrast ratio – perfect to partner your Pioneer Blu-ray player and KURO TV.
Calibrate your system professionally
To make sure all the speakers in your system are in tune with each other and the room, the SCLX90 features Advanced Multi-Channel Acoustic Calibration System (MCACC).
Advanced MCACC is an automatic sound field adjustment system that enables you to precision-tune your system to your living room, just like a sound professional, but with minimum effort.
A microphone monitors the sound environment and a 9-band equaliser optimally adjusts the sound parameters.
Simply connect a microphone, press a button and the system will automatically and accurately analyse the sound characteristics of the room and calibrate accordingly. Along with parameters such as the number and size of speakers, their distance from the listening position.
The result sounds like a professional recording engineer has fine-tuned your amplifier or home cinema system.
In addition to this, users or integrators can output their room’s sonic fingerprint from Susano to a PC, whereby they can see a graphical display of what calibration adjustments Advanced MCACC has actually made to the set-up, with a ‘before and after’ graphical display.
Advanced MCACC was created as a joint effort between ourselves and professional sound engineers at AIR Studios; it's unique to Pioneer, so you won't find it on any other products.
Offering visibly better control
The SCLX90 comes equipped with a 5.1 inch LCD monitor on the front; displaying varied information in full colour, letting you control the receiver without using an external display.
Whether you’re streaming HD video content via a PC (DLNA) or making adjustments to the set-up on a SCLX90, the 5.1 inch LCD monitor gives you greater visibility than a traditional amplifier.
