What is Apple CarPlay/Android Auto not working properly when connected via cable?

Pioneer always recommends the use of the genuine USB cable provided with the smartphone at the time of purchase. If you are not using this cable we recommend purchasing a cable directly from the smartphone manufacturer.

Using aftermarket cables may provide correct functionality however, they have been often known to produce intermittent faults when using the smartphone platforms like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The use of aftermarket USB adaptors (allowing the retention of factory USB ports in a vehicle) have also on occasion caused similar intermittent connection problems. Please check these adaptors before use.

Additionally, poor cell/mobile reception may also be the cause of intermittent faults.
